Red Nail & Lips - Hot Trend for Fall/Winter

Beauty experts are proclaiming that red
is the “it” color for lips for both the fall and winter seasons. All women can pull off this look and should embrace
this color since “red lipstick will help women achieve the confident,
feminine and fashionable look of the season.” We suggests stocking
up on classic red colors, including true red lipsticks for light-skinned
individuals (i.e. fire engine shade), orange based, warmer tones for
medium-skin hues (i.e. brick shade), and an intense bluish red shade
for dark-skinned women (Wine Red).
Two favorites that look good on everyone:
 | DESIRE LIPSTICK HoneyBee Colorbalm Lipstick This is a intense matte brick red with a deep scarlet hue. |
 | RISQUE LIPSTICK HOneyBee Colorbalm Lipstick This is a very deep plum berry red; matte. |

How to Achieve Red Lip Radiance
Red lipsticks are
some of the most unforgiving colors since some shades can often emphasize
any flakes, creases and color that have bled outside the lips. To help
pull off this beauty style, We suggest the following lip tips:
- Conceal Dry, Flaky Lips:
Apply either concealer or liquid foundation to the outside edge of the
lips to help prevent the lip color from “feathering” or “bleeding.”
- Apply a Lip Stain to
the Lips: A lip staining product accentuates lips with its natural
ruby-tinted shade, smoothes out lip lines, and helps hold the red lipstick
color in place for hours. Moss suggests applying the rollerball to the
bottom lip, then pressing your lips together, and waiting at least 10
seconds for the stain to set.
- Line, Not
Outline, Your Lips: It is very important to match your lip liner
to your lipstick. And it is equally important to apply this liner to
the entire lip, not just the edges. Using a lip liner will not
only help define your lips, but it will also help set a border for both
the lip balm and lipstick (see next steps).
- Give Lips a Gloss Over:
After the application of lip liner, put on one coat of Softlips®
Lip Conditioning Balm with SPF 20 to help condition your lips and protect
them from sun damage. This product will soften the lips without making
them waxy or greasy.
- Become the Lady in Red:
Apply a shade of red that complements both your skin tone and lip liner.
For maximum precision with the red lipstick, use a lip brush to apply
your lipstick neatly and evenly. Your lips should look fresh for hours!
Not a Fan of Red? Go For the Bronze
Too timid to go for the all-out red look?
Then consider a more subtle shade, such as a metallic brownish lip tint,
a rich color that complements all skin tones and accents your fall wardrobe.
Complement Dark Lip Shades with
Simple Eye Make-Up
Style experts recommend pairing pale eyelids
with red lips to achieve a red hot glamorous look (never
have bold eyes and bold lips at the same time). Look for neutral
eye shadow
Shades, such as vanilla, beige or other
off-white colors to create picture perfect and expressive eyes. To finish
the look, use either a dark brown or black eye pencil, depending on
your skin tone, and apply as close to the lash line as possible, from
the corner out. After you apply all of your eye make-up, bring more
color and length to your lashes by sweeping on black mascara from the
roots to the ends.
Face It
– Blush Will Finish Off the Fashion Look
Red and bronze lip
colors should also be paired with a clean, natural looking face. Use a face powder to even out one’s skin tone with a
natural-looking finish, and then complete the look with a peachy pink
powder blush. When applying blush, always remember to lightly sweep
across the apples of the cheeks only.
