Lactic Acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from milk. Because Lactic Acid is gentler than glycolic acid, it's one of the best chemical peel choices for sensitive skin types as well as those with darker skin tones.

Lactic Acid works as an exfoliant. It's able to deeply penetrate the damaged areas of the skin and efficiently accelerate removal of the outermost layer of dead skin cells that clog and make skin look dull. By removing that top layer of skin, the newer (healthier) skin is revealed. Lactic Acid peels also provide a high level of hydration to the skin.
